Masterson’s Pub , positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment turned into one of the worst experiences of my life . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I experienced behind its entrance was appalling and beyond comprehension .

The ground was covered in grime , and a pungent odor of uncleaned spills and uncleaned toilets suffused the entire pub. With a smell of a mixture of excrement , a rotting odor and sour vomit . The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and debris that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The bathroom was in even a truly awful state— backed up, with a snapped lever and walls stained in what I can only assume was human waste .
